Chasing Moments, Not Miles

It’s incredible how a recent family trip taught me that the best adventures are not measured by the distance traversed, but by the experience captured along the journey. My family chose to spend some time in a quiet coastal town, away from the usual chaos of daily life. We didn’t have a set itinerary, and we certainly didn’t have one with strict time limits to check off most visited places, so we were able to embrace the freedom to exist. Each moment, from serene morning strolls on the beach to unplanned forest hikes felt extra special simply because we weren’t under time pressure. In this case, we weren’t trying to “see it all,” but rather to savor one another’s company along with the moment’s beauty.

The trip resulted in a combination of quiet but wonderful ways of spending one’s time like sandcastle building, fire camp stories, or simply sunbathing while looking at the sun dip towards the horizon. Alhough these do not sound like some epic occasions, they were the most precious of all. The beautifyful thing was that the joy of traveling is not in how many distances you cover, but rather how many connections you create together with the time spent together. As such, if you are in the process of setting some places for your next trip, do not forget that its not about the destinations, buy rather it's about the memories made along the way.

THANK YOU!
